In the trio „Specimen Bag“  Berlin based saxophone player Anna Kaluza and bassist Ulf Mengersen meet drummer and percussionist Andreas Axelsson from Stockholm for free improvised music. Anna Kaluza is active on the Berlin jazz and improvised music scene. She leads her own group Kaluza Quartett, has a duo with bassist Jan Roder and is a member of the quartet Rumble Phone Fish. Ulf Mengersen is active in improvised, experimental and contemporary music. He plays with large ensembles such as the Berlin Improvisers Orchestra and the London Improvisers Orchestra, as well as in smaller groups such as The Chemical Expansion League and the quintet Ensemble Discoveries. As a contemporary music performer, he has participated in Ensemble United Berlin, Ensemble Ilinx and at Neuköllner O-Töne. Andreas Axelsson’s experience as a drummer spans many different genres and contexts where improvisation has been the common denominator. He has performed in Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe and has appeared on a number of discs released on labels in France, England, Germany, Portugal, Japan, Norway, Denmark and Sweden.
